Development 1

EXPerimentation

... with Masking glue paint and watercolour

... Testing the batik dye on with oil base marker on chinese calligraphy paper

... Sketches on Ginger Flowers

... pre digital draft before painting on the cloth

... Batik painting draft 1

Stop & Reflect: Everything is competing for attention, focus(the flower) is not prominent. The output can be a wrap instead of flat artwork. Explore different tools, other than tjanting, to create the image. Therefore the actions I should take are: make the focus more prominent by creating borders and contrast the background to the flower. Use sponge, brushes, cloth, styrofoam to create strokes on the fabric. To create a 3D surface

 2) Batik Painting

Continue with experimentation
... Create different brushstrokes using different tools

... Wrap around a 3D object(prism and cube shape with light)

... On other materials-tissues
... with Batik fixer

Decision-making

1) Through the explorations such as testing batik on different types of surfaces: chinese paper, tissues, fabric and using various tools to create mark on the surface of the canvas, I am opening myself to the possibilities of the materials and what I can do. I have also attempted incorporating lights, however the effect is not what I have desire for this artwork. Therefore, I have drop it.
